BASICは、抜けるような空の色をした宝石・ターコイズの9人衆である。一口に宝石といってもいろいろありますが、その辺のポッと出とは一緒にしないでいただきたい。何せ我々ターコイズには数千年の歴史がありますから！ 世界四大文明の権力者にも愛でられてきた、由緒正しい宝石なのです。世界四大文明ですよ！ ご存知ですか？ エジプト文明と、ええと、メソ・・・メソなんとか文明とかそんな感じの文明なんです！キラキラ光る宝石も、まあ良いでしょう。しかしながら、色の深みや模様でその価値が決まるとされるターコイズは、物を知る大人のための宝石と言えるでしょう！ ターコイズ、ターコイズをよろしく！！

BASIC is a group of nine turquoise gems with color of the clear sky.There are many types of stones, but don’t take us the same as others. Because we turquoise have a history of thousands of years! We are a venerable stone well beloved among most powerful people from the four great civilizations in the world. The four great civilizations in the world! Do you know what they are? They are Egypt, Meso…Meso…anyway, the civilizations that sound really great! Shiny stones are beautiful right? but… what is more special about us is our value is determined by the depth of the color as well as the pattern. 食欲の無い朝にうってつけで、買って間もないミキサーが毎日のように稼動している。世間のヘルスケアの流行の移り変わりは激しく、昨日の健康食が今日にはもう不健康食になっていることなどザラである。慎重派のJBは、当初このスムージーの流行に懐疑的であった。しかしながら、流行の報せから数年が経ち、もう完全に定着していると見て、自身の食生活への導入を決めたのである。作ることも飲むことも手軽で、健康にも良い。そんな都合の良いものがあるものかと、かつてのJBは鼻白んでいた。が、スムージーを飲み干してJBは思い直す。美味く、健康に良い。面白くて、ためになる。そういった最適化への追求こそが人の歩みなのだと。ああ、人は怠惰なだけではないのだな。簡素なキッチンでミキサーの唸りを心地良く感じながら、壮大な夢想に耽るJB。世界は進化し続けている。

It is perfect when you don’t have much appetite in the morning. The blender he just bought is running almost every day. The trend of healthy eating in the world is changing rapidly. It is not uncommon that one thing which was considered healthy yesterday suddenly becomes unhealthy today.JB being a very careful person, was initially skeptical toward the trend when smoothie hit the street. However, after several years when he found such trend is only going to be trendier, he decided to try it. It is easy to make, easy to drink and good for the health. JB used to despise such things that sound too good to be true. But now, after drinking up the smoothie, JB is having a different thought. It is delicious and it is good for health. Same way, one thing can either be fun and good for mind. The pursuit of such optimization is human progress. Well, people aren’t just lazy. JB indulges himself in this magnificent thinking while enjoying the growling sound of the blender in his simple kitchen. The world continues to evolve.

とんでもなく深いリバーブの掛かった音色のギターを爆音で鳴らす。PATTERNは、スタジオで一人アンプと向かい合っていた。かれこれもう4時間は演奏し続け、完全にトランス状態だ。かつてバンドを組んだこともある。しかしながら、どんな曲でも10分はギターソロを奏でる彼の理解者はいなかった。都合8つめのバンドの解散後にFLAGが出した結論は、こうだ。「あ、ひょっとして一人でやればギターソロ弾き放題じゃね？」その日から、毎日のように一人スタジオで轟音フィードバックの波に呑まれて恍惚となるFLAGであった。自分、耳おかしなるで？誰かそう忠告してはくれないものか。

PATTERN is playing guitar with a ridiculously deep reverb tone. He is facing the amplifier alone in the studio. He’s been playing guitar for more than four hours and is completely in a trance. He used to play in a band, but nobody understood him when he had to play solo for more than 10 minutes in any song. The band of eight people thus dissolved. Here the conclusion PATTERN drew afterwards. “Well, if I play alone, I could play solo as much as I want, isn’t it?” From that day on, PATTERN starts playing guitar ecstatically in the studio all by himself, wrapping himself with waves of roaring sound. “You will have hearing loss!” can anyone please give him this advice?

栽培するのは、ご存知・カカオ豆である。カカオ豆といえば多くの方はチョコレートを連想されると思うが、実はガーナ国内ではカカオをほとんどチョコレートに加工することはない。フルーツとしてそのまま食すのが一般的なのだ。甘党のFLAGは、仕事中にもスイーツのことで頭がいっぱい。「今日は仕事終わりにクベ（ココナッツ）のケーキでも食べたいなあ」いやいやいや、そこはまずチョコレートやろ！という諸兄のツッコミも空しく、今日も収穫されたカカオ豆は、遠い国に向けてチョコレートとなるために残らず出荷されていくのであった。無念。

He is cultivating cocoa beans as you may have thought of. Speaking of cacao, many people will think of chocolate, but cacao in Ghana is rarely processed into chocolate. People simply eat it as a fruit. FLAG has a sweet tooth and he always thinks about sweets even at work.Now he is speaking to himself, “I’m going to have a Kube (coconut) cake after work today.”No, no, no, it should be chocolate! Why it is not chocolate!However, the cocoa beans that were harvested today have all been shipped to distant countries to become chocolate. What a pity.

あのですねえ、確かに私の姿を描いて人に伝えるように言いましたよ？ 言いましたけど、ちょっとは上手く描いてくれませんかねえ。最も有名な瓦版の絵。あれのせいで、妙にシュールなキャラクターだと思われちゃってるんですよ。一応妖怪なんですから。今から私を絵に描いて人に伝える方は、歌川国芳みたいな感じに描いてもらえませんか。イカツい感じで、どうか一つ。

Yes, I indeed told people to draw an image of mine. But, none of you did a good job.
The most famous one is that woodblock print. Thanks to it, I have been ever since imagined as a weird freakish creature. I’m a yokai though. I know.Now I want to get the record straight. For those who are going to draw me, listen, draw me in the Utagawa Kuniyoshi style, OK? I want that cool and ferocious style. Please!
